1. Professional Logos


This logo is bad for many reasons. First of all, the man looks frightening to me, and I would not want to go to him to work on my teeth. The font is very outdated and looks like it is from the 70's. The red color with the yellow background is also uninviting and harsh. It is very unprofessional looking and would not make me want to go there.


This logo is good because it is not too complicated and is a nice simple logo. There are two d's which represent Darrow's Dental. The words also work well together and are spaced nicely. They also line up and work off of the size of the box on the left. It seems clean cut and professional, which is something I would be looking for when going to a dentist.

2. Retail Logos


This is a bad logo, because it is so complicated. The words Snowball and Bookshop do not line up or work well together. The 's' on the left is very complicated and looks old. I would think that this bookstore did not sell any modern or new books because of the design. It also looks like Christmas colors as well.

The Borders logo is good because it is simple and to the point. The letters look like books on a shelf, which represents a bookstore. Because it is so simple and neutral, it works well with the fact that there are many different types of books in the store. It could easily be reproduced on any medium.

3. Service Logos

This is a bad logo because it is so chaotic and busy. It would be hard to reproduce on different mediums. There is so much going on in it and it does not resemble something that would represent a bank. There is also writing in the banner which is hard to read. I think the color green is a good idea to use for a bank though, because it represents money which is that main point.


I feel that KeyBank is a good logo, because it is simple and to the point. It would be easy to reproduce on any type of medium. They also have a strong icon to go along with it. The red key represents security, which is what one would be looking for in a bank. It would also stand alone and be recognized as the KeyBank key.

4. Non-Profit Organizations


This logo is bad for many reasons. First of all it looks very boring and uninteresting. It also seems outdated. I feel as the the house would not be able to stand alone, and as a symbol or that organizations logo  I feel it should. The type also does not work with the shape of the house, and they look like separate parts.


This logo is because it fun and would make people want to participate in what the organization is doing. The house with people in it represents that they help build houses and it seems like they enjoy doing it, which would get people involved. The house and people would also be able to stand away from the words and be recognized as that organizations, which is important. It is also esthetically pleasing.

5. Manufacturing Logos

This logo was bad because there was so much going on. The word 'the' is going through the 'o', which is very large compared to the other letters. There are also lines which are supposed to be the bed springs. If I was looking for a mattress I would not want to notice springs in the logo first, instead something soft looking or relaxing.


I thought this was a good logo because it was very simple and to the point. The grey color is very neutral and the type is very clean cut. There is also a simple logo on the right of a person stretching/yawning, which implies that the person had a good nights rest. This logo would be able to be reproduced easily.
